I could almost reach out and touch the troubled barge. Posted by Hello

The view was impressive. Posted by Hello

It was interesting... listening in on the conversations of the salvage crew. They were determining the best way to pull the barge free from the rocks. Posted by Hello

Going back down was easier than the trip up to the lighthouse. Posted by Hello

When the rain, hail and wind stopped...the helicopters started coming in. Rescue/salvage efforts are underway...and time for us all to clear out. Posted by Hello

The fuel barge broke loose from its Tug during the wind and rain storms on Saturday night. This little alcove on the beach is a few miles from our house. This photo was taken from the North Head Lighthouse grounds. Posted by Hello

Soumalainen. Hyvaa paivaa.

Pirkko and Matti Lumme are visiting the area from Finland. Their daughter, Kristiina Hiukka, lives in Seattle and she is involved with the Finnish School there. Their son-in-law works at Microsoft and they have an 8 yr old grandson. While on a walk... (they are staying at The Shelburn Inn)... they spotted the Finnish and Swedish flags. They stopped and asked about them. I explained that I am the Finn and my husband is the Swede. When we are in residence... we hoist the flags. After exchanging contact emails and names... I showed them Aura's Heritage report and they knew of the area where Pihlaja's live in Finland. Posted by Hello

Do you know where your kids are? Grandpa made everyone clocks for Christmas. I have custody until they stop traveling the world.... it helps me keep track of time...when they are away from home. Posted by Hello

We have been busy working on the house. Ryan's visit gave us a deadline to get into action again. There is still so much to do...but things are looking much better and we aren't embarrassed to have company. Posted by Hello
